To arrive in Rio de Janeiro, there are two main airports: Galeão International Airport (Tom Jobim), which handles most international flights and is about 30 to 50 minutes from the South Zone, and Santos Dumont Airport, located in downtown Rio, closer to the main tourist and hotel areas.

Whenever possible, we recommend that our guests arrive via Santos Dumont Airport, as it is more convenient and offers one of the most beautiful landing approaches in Brazil, with views of Sugarloaf Mountain and the Rio–Niterói Bridge, making your arrival in Rio even more special.
Rio de Janeiro offers a wide range of places to stay, from iconic beachfront luxury hotels to intimate boutique properties and budget-friendly guesthouses. Most choose neighborhoods like Copacabana and Ipanema for classic ocean views, easy beach access, and lively dining scenes. Leblon offers a more upscale, residential feel, while Santa Teresa is known for charming boutique hotels set in historic hillside mansions with panoramic city views.

Overall, Rio accommodations range from five-star resorts and international brands to stylish design hotels and affordable pousadas, giving y'all options for every style and budget.

We highly recommend talking to our travel concierge, Orlando, whose contact info is above!

suggested places to stay

Fairmont Rio

Fairmont Rio de Janeiro Copacabana is perched right on iconic Copacabana Beach — so you can wake up to ocean views, feel the sea breeze, and are just steps from one of Rio’s most famous stretches of sand. Nebio & Bob + their family will be staying here.

The hotel blends classic Brazilian style with modern comfort, offering stylish rooms and suites, many with balconies overlooking Copacabana. Bob likes the 70s vibe exterior!

Lounge at the infinity pool with breathtaking Sugarloaf views, hit the beach club just across the street, enjoy spa treatments, and experience Rio’s vibrant culture and nightlife without having to walk far. The Sunday party at the Marimbas Beach Club will be across the street. There are room blocks available.

Other neighborhoods

Saturday night's event will be in the Santa Teresa neighborhood. This neighborhood is an arts district that feels like New Orleans meets Lisbon meets the jungle.

Chez Georges, housed in a striking example of Brazilian modernist architecture, the property has just seven unique suites, each named after a musician and filled with artful touches and thoughtful design details. Guests can relax by the pool and rooftop terrace, enjoy excellent panoramic vistas, and soak up the bohemian atmosphere of Santa Teresa while still being a short drive from Rio’s beaches and main attractions.

Pousada Rio144, right nearby the Saturday venue, is an intimate boutique guesthouse in Santa Teresa with breathtaking views of Sugarloaf Mountain, the ocean, and the city skyline. With just a handful of beautifully designed rooms, a rooftop terrace for breakfast, and a small infinity pool overlooking Rio, it feels peaceful, personal, and special — a romantic, design-forward stay just a short ride from the beaches.

Airbnb & VRBO

For guests considering an Airbnb or VRBO, Rio has several great neighborhoods to choose from. Ipanema and Leblon are ideal if you want to be steps from the beach with walkable restaurants, cafés, and a polished, safe feel. Copacabana offers classic beachfront energy and often more variety at different price points.

We personally loved staying in Botafogo, which has a more local vibe, great food, and incredible views of Sugarloaf (see photo)— a fantastic option if you want something a little less touristy but still very central.
